Another great Lord’s day

We enjoyed worshipping this morning in German, especially to German versions of popular songs by Darlene Zschech and Brian Doerksen. The sermon about Freude (joy) came from the Luke 10 account of Jesus’ response when the disciples came back rejoicing that even demons feared them. As hoped, we were able to understand more than last week. I was also able to carryon some very simple conversations in German after church.

After church, we had Kaffe und Kuchen at the home of Simone Benner, the church’s deaconess. She also led us on a short walking tour of the area in Pankow where the former GDR leaders lived. It is now a beautiful park and residential area.

At the moment, 5 PM, we’re sitting in an area of Potsdamer Platz, where we can get internet access. We were sorry to learn about the demise of Monte Kiffin’s defense.

I’m quite proud of Bonnie tonight for ordering her dinner in German without resorting to English.

Thanks again for all your prayers.

I just found out how to reply. Lucky for you – I have had some real concerns about you two on the loose in a foreign country. I too am proud of Bonnie for ordering her dinner in German. The question is – did she get what she thought she was ordering? Just kidding – I know both of you know whart you are doing every minute. I had a face book message from a niece in
Duluth & she was making dinner – FRIED SAUERKRAUT, baked potatoes & sausage. Do they do that over there – it could be good. Love–

Tom and Bonnie, just wanted you to know that we continue to pray for you. Yesterday I was in the intercessors room with the Wendt’s and Dennis Corley and we had an extended time of prayer for you. We even prayed that the plumber would come early. Reading the blog is great! Keep it up and we will continuw to pray.
